The DInner Table Project
The FRC would like to share a fabulous resource for strengthening families called "The Dinner Table Project." It was created by Four Rivers Behavioral Health Regional Prevention Center in 2015 with the basic idea that families that eat together, have better relationships. If children have better relationships with their parents and siblings, they are less likely to try drugs and alcohol. Then it was found that the children of families that share meals together also have better academic performance, higher self-esteem, a greater sense of resilience, lower risk of teen pregnancy, lower risk of depression, lower rates of obesity, and a lower likelihood of developing an eating disorder! The Dinner Table Project initiative focuses on strengthening the family element at home by providing games and activities for families along with simple and cheap dinner recipes that families can do together. Attached is the September 2019 newsletter. You can go to the website to sign up for the newsletter and gain access to ideas and resources to strengthen and support your student and family! https://thedinnertableproject.org/…
